First book I finished this year and it's finally getting a book review.

The Dollmakers is a super imaginative fantasy, filled with a lush world and complex characters...but it loses itself about midway through the book. It starts off pretty dark and not shying away from being quite visceral and in the end every punch feels held back and I just found myself missing the tone from the beginning.
